PRESIDENT´S MESSAGE

THE TRUTH HAS SURFACED…

As you go about your daily life can you count how many times you are subjected to endless amount of advertising through billboards, magazines, general media by the pharmaceutical industry? And these campaigns all aim to promote a particular drug—usually featuring beautiful people enjoying themselves in the great outdoors—is a more general message. You know how prescription drugs are expensive right? But pharmaceutical companies show you how valuable these prescription drugs are and that you get what you pay for – “ All the money you pay for these drugs will be put back for ‘Innovative ‘ research and development, so be grateful, stop complaining, and pay up.”

Do you know if any of this true? Well, the first part certainly is. Prescription drug costs are indeed high—and increasing dramatically. But, what about the rest? Coming from a pharmaceutical background myself, I have done many projects particularly related to formulation of medicines, dosage form analysis, and design and modify dosing programmes for patients with trauma for nearly 9 years. The most valuable aspect that I have had through all these years is a spirit of cooperation and a desire to improve human health through innovative, outcomes-based research. What really bothers me the most is that over the past two decades the pharmaceutical industry has evolved very far from its original high purpose of discovering and producing useful new drugs to a marketing mechanism. Now their primary goal is to sell drugs hyped up with marketing, this industry uses its wealth and power to control every institution that might stand in its way, including the US Congress, the FDA, academic medical centers, and the medical profession itself. If you are in the health care industry you would know that most of pharmaceutical marketing efforts are focused on influencing doctors, since they are the ones writing your prescriptions.

It’s all about patent protection. For a natural supplement to make specific health claims, it has to go through outrageously expensive drug trials which contributes to a cost that normal supplement manufacturers could never afford, since food and supplements are natural products and cannot be patented. Without a patent, anyone can sell them, so paying as much as a billion dollars for a drug trial is essentially money down the drain. Only the drug companies have that kind of budget, so they merely put the supplement into some form that they can dispense as a drug, patent it, and prevent others from selling the drug through exclusivity. Then they can charge whatever they want.

Sometimes big pharmaceutical companies even take a step further, they tend to pick up and pick off promising supplements and make them into drugs.. They not only get a patent on their drug—they also get the government to ban the supplement on which the drug is based. This is precisely what happened to pyridoxamine, one of only three natural and bioavailable forms of vitamin B6. As you might have known, Vitamin B-6 is essential for human natural development, It plays an important role in the prevention of cancer and treatment of seizures, anemia, mental disorders including schizophrenia, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other conditions. Unfortunately, FDA banned pyridoxamine in 2008 in response to a petition from a drug company that wanted to use it in their own drug formulation. This means our only access to pyridoxamine will be via the high priced synthetic drug version. The ban on pyridoxamine as a supplement is a tremendous loss.

An alternative to pyridoxamine, and one that has similar anti-glycation properties, is one of the other forms of vitamin B6—a compound called pyridoxal-5′-phosphate, or P5P. It’s the only one that can be directly consumed by the body without any conversion. While everyone needs B6 to live, some people have difficulty converting other forms of B6 to P5P, so the elimination of natural P5P could make them entirely dependent on drugs for survival. P5P reduces homocysteine in the body, it is an amino acid that has a potential risk factor in cardiovascular disease. P5P also supports protein metabolism and muscle growth, and helps overcome premenstrual symptoms and depression by encouraging natural production of serotonin and dopamine in the brain. New research has demonstrated that P5P may also protect against pancreatic cancer; other studies demonstrate that P5P also protects against kidney disease and eye disease. You can find P5P food, and has been available as a supplement for years. But now it is under threat as another pharmaceutical company has signed a petition to ban. If the petition is approved, we will have to wait until we get sick to obtain a prescription for the drug. We’ll no longer be able to maintain optimal health and prevent aging and diseases like cancer by proactively keeping P5P at the optimal level. It would be a a huge injustice if P5P disappears from the supplement market like pyridoxamine.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE UNKNOWN.

As the economy continues to struggle, health insurance is shrinking. Employers are requiring workers to pay more of the costs themselves, and many businesses are dropping health benefits altogether. Since prescription drug costs are rising so fast, payers are particularly eager to get out from under them by shifting costs to individuals. The result is that more people have to pay a greater fraction of their drug bills out of pocket. And that hurts… Average workers simply can’t afford it. I have heard many tearful stories that workers have to trade off drugs against home heating or food and some people even try to string out their drugs by taking them less often than prescribed, or sharing them with a spouse. Others, too embarrassed to admit that they can’t afford to pay for drugs, leave their doctors’ offices with prescriptions in hand but don’t have them filled. Not only do these patients go without needed treatment but their doctors sometimes wrongly conclude that the drugs they prescribed haven’t worked and prescribe yet others—thus compounding the problem. And this is why it has been my ultimate dream the last 10 years to find the way to help public with the most valuable supplements available at the most affordable prices. And that they pay for the real value they receive, not what they are told to pay for. After finishing my final project in monitoring the impact of drug therapy, I decided to go on with my own research and development using all the money I had saved up in 7 years. My goal was to establish a concept revolving around a “nation “with no borders where you can find the most advanced nutritional products utilizing all the available and valuable sources. Mutated Nation was born to become synonymous with confidence. The confidence to know that when you use any of our products, you are doing the very best you can for your healthy lifestyle. We are a company driven by performance and results, so you can be too. With relentless effort, my team and i have uncovered what WILL be considered the performance enhancement discovery of the century! From the smallest supplement company to the largest, every product starts by sourcing the raw materials. You could have the best manufacturing processes in the world, but if your raw materials are not of the absolute highest quality, your research and development are not in sync, the supplements will not be delivered. It is the power of originality born of great science and proven products that have made Mutated Nation to become the ultimate nation for all human kinds today.
